CAT PHILES

The Highland Furkids

Amelia's Christmas

Good morning, efurryone. This is Amelia T Cat, youngest of the Highland kitties. My sisfurs Cleo and DD didn't want to get on the computer, so I guess it's up to me to tell you all about our Kissamouse - oops, Meowmie and Pawpa call it "Christmas".

First of all, we've been getting lots and lots of pretty cards from all sorts of other kitties and kitty people from all over the world. Meowmie has them all hung on the wall in the living room. She says she'll take a picture and put it online.

For a bunch of days before Kissamouse, we kept seeing all these pretty boxes appearing under that big tree that Pawpa set up in the living room. Some of them smelled really yummy - like kittie treats and toys and catnip. Meowmie and Pawpa took most of the boxes away on Kissamouse, but left a few under the tree. They stayed away for a couple of hours, so all of kitties got to sniff the remaining boxes, and bat at them and see what kind of noises they made, and wrestle with them to see if we could "accidentally" get the pretty paper to come off.

We didn't do well with guessing though. When Meowmie and Pawpa got back they pulled the remaining boxes out. I don't read hoomin writing well, so I didn't realize the boxes were for us kitties! They each had a name of a kitty, and the tags said they were from someone named "Santa Claws". DD got a cool toy called a Cat Dancer and a bag of treats, Cleo got a big tub of catnip and a bag of treats, and I got a squeakymouse and a bag of treats. The Cat Dancer and the catnip are really nice, but my squeekymouse is WAY NEAT! When I bat it with my paws, it makes squeeks. If I turn upside down and kick the mousie with my back legs while I hold it with my teeth and front legs it sounds like a whole herd of mousies.

The only bad part was the day after Kissamouse. My Grandmeowmie has some D-pets, and one of them died the day after Kissamouse. That made everyone really sad. But they are doing ok, and me and my sisfurrs are doing our best to be extra cute and playful and cuddly. This Kissamouse thing is sure fun! Hoomins do come up with some good ideas after all!

I hope you all had a good Kissamouse too. And thanks for reading my story about our Kissamouse. Me and my sisfurrs and my Meowmie and my Pawpa wish all of you a really happy new year too.
