When are they coming, mama?
I must wait at the door
Oh, wait one moment mama,
I must prepare!
Kittens, she heard as she dances for all to see
And rushes to the door to wait so patiently.
You see kittens make Annie
As happy as a lark
There she goes
For the kittens need a bed to start
She must fluff the bed just so
For her little ones to lay
Oh, what is that she heard?
Are the kittens here today?
We opened up the door
And Annie runs out in delight
To meet the man who she knows brings kittens
What a delight!
She looks all around
For kittens she knows he has
Oh mama look! Look!
I found the kittens like you said
Oh look, mama, they are here
Oh look, everyone
What a delightful day!
I have kittens
Look at what has come
Now be careful, don't drop them
Gentle, please, is what she says
Oh please put them in my bed
Just so-gentle now - don't hurt them
Oh what a day this is!
I have kittens to hug and cuddle
I am happy as can be
Kittens are here
What a joy they are to me!
Who cares if they don't look like me
They need a mama to love them
And I will be that one
Kittens for me, my mama said to me and now I must go
The kittens, they are calling me
I must go take care of these new ones, right mama -
I have to do it just so
They are so tiny
Oh I am so happy!
Why, I think they are divine!
Mama you can see them?
But don't get too close
I have it under control
For I have kittens
What a delight to me
Why doesn't everyone like kittens?
I just don't understand
Why kittens are so special
They are now here
I have a new family
Kittens are such a delight
Kittens, what a joy
Kittens, mama,
Kittens for you and me.
