Oh well, springtime in Oklahoma. We have thunderstorms rolling through the area. Sammy is scared of the lights and noise, while Little Bit likes to sit and watch the light show.

A while back someone mentioned that their cat was terrified until they went to bed. Then the kitty climbed under the covers and slept through the night. Thinking of this during tonight's storm, I sat in the recliner and had Sammy between my legs covered with a blanket. Sammy was still scared but lying there peeking out from under the cover. She really seemed much better, although I noticed that she would only look out away from the windows. Of course I kept petting her and telling her that those noises couldn't hurt her, and she seemed to be buying it.

That's when Little Bit spoiled everything. She had been watching the light show from her usual spot in front of the glass door next to where I sat with Sammy. Little Bit must have thought she'd get a better view up on the recliner. As you've probably already guessed, she landed on the lumpy blanket I had covering my legs just as a clap of thunder sounded.

So, I ended up with one startled cat and one very scared cat. Little Bit just barely touched down - Sammy was off like a shot to hide under the bed - Little Bit took off in the opposite direction to figure out why the blanket flew into the air when she landed.
