"Are you a Persian Fan?" the man asked me.
Surprised I answered, "Why, yes can't you see,
My snub little nose, my long glossy fur,
Hear the special sound there is to my purr?
A Persian Fan? Why, of course I'm that,
Surely anyone can see, I'm a Persian Cat."
"Call me what you like but you must see,
Wonderful is the word to describe me,
With great beauty and very, very smart,
And I have the most loving heart
My meow a sonnet, my purr a symphony,
Just you listen while I play a song for thee."
"No other music ever known here on earth,
Can thrill as my purr does, and be worth,
The paeans of praise, the ancients sang to me,
The worship they gave to the beauty you see.
Of all the creatures, God put on this earth,
Persian Cats are the ones of greatest worth."
