CAT PHILES

Dave's View

Appendages

I started trying to figure how many appendages men and women have and gave it up. There are anomalies in both sexes that make some things very debatable as to what constitutes an appendage. Ear? Nose? Extended tongue (Is it an appendage, and if so, is it still an appendage when it is retracted and the mouth closed [the usual situation for a man when in the presence of a woman and just the opposite for her]?)

Women, however, have an appendage in common with cats that men don't, and that is an overdeveloped curiosity bump. Men can get either one's vigorous, playful attention merely by dangling a piece of brightly colored ribbon in front of them. Of course, while a cat's attention may be fully engaged with just a small token ribbon, women prefer an elaborate mix of brightly colored ribbons, flounces, and stays, generously interlarded with jewels.

The actual use of these and similar gaudy items to get a female in the mood to play can, however, usually be held back as a last resort. Provided the man's tongue is sufficiently limber and inventive, the mere promise of such things will do to accomplish the same thing. For, you see, that's where the curiosity bump comes in. Once the male actually lets the female *catch* the bait, the mystery is gone. There's nothing for her curiosity bump to work on. I've known men to keep the same woman chasing the *promise* of bait for years.

You can promise a cat a ribbon to chase, and it will get you nowhere.

Caveat: only a cad or a bounder takes unfair advantage of this.
