CAT PHILES

The Cat Ascendant

The Arriviste

This cat is obviously a stray
And All evidence suggests to me
Apparently he’s come to stay.

He suddenly appeared one day
Lurking about and poised to flee.
This cat is obviously a stray.

The cat approved the food entrée
And rubbed my leg to say to me:
(Apparently) he’s come to stay.

My dread is that someone may
Now claim him! I advertised you see:
This cat is obviously a stray.

I later thought how I must pay-
For no vets’ services are free:
Apparently he’s come to stay!

The cat about the house will lay
And the evidence just seems to be
The cat is obviously a stray.
-Apparently he’s come to stay.
