CAT POET'S CORNER

Audience

The cats, these two,
Nameless and unknown to me,
Pause
Their cats' paws fast to the deck.

And while this
Is not applause
Per se,
They haven't left yet,
And I've only been warming up,
This, I think, is significant.

It's time for Bach,
Bouree from 3rd Cello suite.
It's neat to watch these cats,
These cool cats,
Who find a seat and garner a treat
Catching notes that otherwise would
Just travel through this screen
Out to the world bereft of audience.

And, like yesterday's mouse,
Having caught these notes,
They wait around for more.

I'm beginning to like this audience.
