CAT PHILES

Tony the Wonder Service Cat

And the award goes to...

Tony. Today we have had the maintenance guys in fixing the plumbing. Tony not only doesn't care much for strangers, but really dislikes guy strangers. Add to it that they make lots of noise and use noise makers and all those things.

For some reason, he keeps thinking that every time the guys go outside the front door to cut some pipe or drywall or whatever that they are gone for good. They have been standing out there coming in and out all day long. And every time they step out, he is up for cuddles. The moment they open the front screen door again, he skedaddles like the apartment has been invaded. And ten minutes later we repeat the routine.

I have always maintained that Tony is brighter than the average cat, but I am having some doubts today. Even the average cat would have long since found a nice hole in the bedroom closet to hide in until everything had been quiet for a nice long while or until they he heard the popping of a can of cat food. Right now, he has finally - and this is in the last few minutes (the guys have been here six hours now) - laid down between the keyboard and the monitor to keep an eye on things and he isn't moving as they come in and out. It certainly took him long enough to figure out that those guys are part of the landscape for the moment. Silly guy.
