My big red CAT at the car's door
Meows urgently. He wants something to eat.
From the bacon burger I've now unwrapped
I extract one strip-his anticipated treat.
His front feet plated firmly on the car doorsill
He eyes the bacon dangling from my fingers.
Then delicately extracts it with his teeth
And departs to eat, but doesn't linger
For soon he's back, silent and focused,
While I've barely gotten my one bite down.
Another piece dangled that that he pulls away.
And he quickly departs, again with no sound.
With the bacon gone and CAT watching me chew
I finally re-wrap the burger and exit the car.
Regular cat food will now be his menu.
He'll grudgingly eat it but refuse to admire.
