Anyone who has adopted an adult cat finds him elusive, aloof, uncaring, blasé, indifferent, devil-may-care, disobedient and his so called feline curiosity has dwindled to a slow promenading around the house, except when hungry, watching some birds or squirrel through the window glass. "My cat," they may say, "only cares about food." He or she may hunt for a while and then comes in and to lay down for hours.Ah, but this is not totally true! An adult cat has been there and done that. Just ask anyone who adopted a kitten and saw him grow, knows that when a kitten reaches adulthood, he's been there and done that.
My lovable kitten, Windy, in TWO DAYS alone has:
And there is more, in only two days, multiply that by a whole year and then you will understand while some cats are so blasé... been there, done that!
- sneaked out of the house through an ajar door went across the street and climbed a three story palm tree and stayed there for twenty minutes exploring its branches
- ripped off the lid of my cell phone to play it and misplacing it where I cannot find it
- made disappear every ball pen at home she has dropped from tables
- stuffed the computer keyboard with hair
- thrown on the floor the plate with my dinner, trying to taste a spaghetti sauce
- climbed after Bindy (U-Tube star) up the porch screen
- tried to sneak out of the house about twenty times and inciting the other cats to do the same, to the point that I have to round up all (six) cats and lock them on the east side of the house every time I have to go out
- eaten off my favorite pudding with her hand-like paws
- tried non-cat food like baked fish, steak, elbows with ground meat sauce
- splashed water from their water hole recipient all over the room and walking around leaving her footprints everywhere
- tested about ten ways to wake me up early in the morning because she is desperately hungry
- drank tea from my cup
- got wet after sneaking in the shower with me
- got wet by sleeping next to the porch screen after climbing it
- got wet by pulling a water jar on her
- got scared of water
