CAT POET'S CORNER

Bella-Puccina at the Cat Protection Society

How lonely my life has become,
In this world of wired confines,
Oh save me, save me, dear lord,
For my heart does not shine in these cages.

I hear strange voices from a far
Could this be the way of my salvation
Or is it another false alarm
For I have been trapped at these stages.

Alas, a woman of Indian descent
Has opened the cage where I dwell
I do not understand why
I have been kept here for so long.

She holds me like a baby
And kisses and cuddles me
For I am too sick to respond
Oh how I want to sing a song.

The dark envelopes my sight
And I hear the sound of thunder
Rocking backwards and forwards
I do not know where I am

Calm takes over for a moment
And the light enters my vision
I see unfamiliar places
And lots of funny faces

Three weeks have passed
If 'm not mistaken
I've landed in heaven
At my new owners' haven.
