Calvin has this *thing* for Chris' necklace. It is a shot-bead necklace - one of the ones with the big, thick metal beads, like you occasionally see on a keytag only big 1cm diameter beads, and choker length. He wears it all the time.EVERY time Chris takes it off if he is staying over or just hanging out and it's bugging him or whatever, Calvin steals it. Wherever it is, he will find it. He literally will DIG in Chris' clothing pile - dig inside his shoes, in his pants pockets, go into his backpack until he finds it. He KNOWS it will be SOMEWHERE. Doesn't matter how well it is hidden, he will find and steal it and run ALL over the house with it, one end in his mouth, dragging it around, roaring and talking to Chris.
Periodically he will leave it in the living room and come back and look at Chris and tell him some big tale about it and then run off to get it again. I dunno WHAT it is about it, but it is HILARIOUS.
Last weekend our friend Lanette came over and we made Chris another necklace out of true metal beads on sinew. We also made other beaded things, bracelets and such, that night. Next morning we wake up, nothing is disturbed, EXCEPT.... drumroll.... Chris' necklace is in the middle of the livingroom floor, has been played with all night and morning -- it was like he KNEW it was for Chris!
Chris came over the next night and had his regular necklace, and Calvin started to clamor for it. Chris said "forget this, watch" and he took it off and said "Calvin, come here, you can be as cool as me" and he put it on him. It was too long for a collar, but Calvin sat up very straight and POSED for a good 2 minutes, which HAS to be a world record for Calvin sitting still. He sat SOOOOO proudly in the center of the bed, showing off his necklace! (we were laughing our asses off)
I have never seen anything like it.
Chris finally took it off him and gave it to him and he ran off with it, and then came back and told Chris the WHOOOLE story, chattering away for a good two minutes, pausing only for Chris to say things like "Really, you WORE it? Tell me more!" and then eventually he finished his story and ran off to drag the necklace around the house some more.
