It looks as if Chicabee (love that name) is going to fit right in. Earlier this afternoon Patty wasn't feeling well, so she lay down on the couch for a nap. Chica jumped up on the end next to her head and was keeping her company. There was a warm patch of sunlight on the couch right where they lay, and I was playing soft music on the cd. Soon both of them were sound asleep.I quietly tiptoed into the kitchen and made me a sandwich. When I came back out, Chica got a whiff of the lunch meat and started wagging her tail madly, beating Patty senseless in the process. She spluttered and coughed and sat bolt upright with blood in her eye. She was ready to fight. Then she saw it was just Chica being overly friendly.
Patty made a few remarks that wouldn't have hurt the sales of a Sunday school book, much, pushed the dog off the couch, and lay back down, growling and grumbling all the while. I like that dog!
To make the afternoon even better, Mac got jealous at all the (negative) attention Chica was getting and jumped up in Patty's lap just as she dozed off again.
Patty has now surrounded herself with cats. Even Chica won't disturb Sasha, so they are going back to sleep. I think I'll give them a few minutes and put "Ride of the Valkyries" or the "William Tell Overture" on the CD.
