Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my first post a few days ago; you certainly have made me feel welcome. Now to the exciting news… Chloe caught her first moth today! Flippy and I were in the kitchen, when we noticed Chloe zipping around and playing differently to normal. Flippy took a closer look and announced that Chloe had caught a moth and there she was playing with it. We thought she was so gorgeous! At first I was unsure about her catching and playing with insects, but at the same time I was happy that Chloe is learning how to hunt. We praised her and told her that she is a "Mighty Huntress"… Woohooo! That’s my Chloe-girl learning how to hunt.
Each day she is becoming more active and more playful. Chloe now squeaks even louder than she did three weeks ago, and bites the hell out of Flippy and me. Of course we both scream like crazy here and Chloe just stares at us and wonders why we won't play with her when she is in a biting mood. Not only that, but she chases us around the house acting like a little kid playing hide and seek. I think that is one of the most gorgeous things my pusspuss does.
Today (Friday, 30th March) has been almost three weeks since the last time we weighed Chloe and she almost doubled her weight. On March 10th she was 410g and now she’s 740g. Wow! Chloe is growing up so fast.
Another cute thing Chloe does, when nature calls she jumps around near the litter box announcing she’s going to do poo. Then if she’s not lazy she does it in the litter box. If not, then I'll end up finding her little "trademarks" around the house in her favorite corners. Naturally I am not happy about this, but I know she’s still a kitten, and after all she is getting better and she is using the litterbox more often than not. I also know that she was too young to be away from her mama, and thankfully Flippy has been teaching me about how to care for a kitten.
I'm very happy with the progress Romeo and Chloe have made; they are slowly becoming friends and they are getting closer each day. At first Romeo would hiss at Chloe and he couldn't stand being in the same room as her. They can now both be in the same room, and they even take turns to entertaining each other, while the other watches.
Tonight I captured Chloe's first kiss given to Romeo. It's wonderful that Romeo is finally accepting Chloe as part of the family. I know there's still tension there but it's only matter of time before Romeo treats Chloe like he does Juliet. As for Juliet, well, that's a different story. She is still holding grudge against us for allowing another puss around her domain. I have noticed however that Juliet will often stay in same room as Chloe so that is a good sign.
The Cat Tickler is one of the most amazing toys created. It is basically "feathers on a stick", but Chloe is obsessed with it and plays with it constantly. I love how she does a forward roll and her body just goes in every direction. Chloe is so carefree that she doesn't take much notice of the other two cats. She does try her best to be close to them and I think she has grown to love Romeo the way he is. Actually today they both were sleeping in the same room and I said to Flippy "Romeo is a big brother now". I thought that was cute.
So that is the news for now about my Chloe, and I will post again soon. I am so happy to share these special moments with all of you, and I promise to add more pictures soon.
