In the fast lane with Daytona

A classic "Far Side" Moment

Uh-oh, she's in the dishes!
Think twice before accepting an
invitation for dinner at my place.

Lounging around,
Daytona is just plain cute.

Daytona can dive under a flat sheet
or Purr-Pad.It's funny to watch.
She looks like a deformed turtle, sorta.

Daytona and I were playing a game of chase/hide-and-seek/peekaboo just now. She'll run into a room and I'll follow her. I'll either hide around a corner until she runs and attacks me, or I'll stalk her until she attacks me. Then one of us will run off and start the game again. When the game goes into the bedroom, one of us will hide beside the bed then the other will stalk until one of us pounces on the other.

Well, the game did indeed go into the bedroom. She was the one hiding beside the bed while I cautiously walked into the room. I then got this brilliant idea to jump from a short distance onto the bed and get her from on top. I've done this before, and it usually works.

They say great minds think along. I've always believed psychotic ones do as well because she came up with the same idea at the same time. I believe a paraphrased quote from one of Gary Larson's comic strips best describes the result of our brainstorm: "The coconut-like sound of their heads colliding secretly delighted the bird."
