CAT PHILES

Dave's View

Company

My little hairy varmint critters just love Patty's brother, John. When he comes to visit, they swarm all over him for attention. I can't understand why; he's allergic to the cats, and Mac gets so enthused when John comes in the door, he piddles all over his shoes. That makes John mad. John tries to be a good sport, but you can tell his patience soon wears thin.

Last night John and his SO dropped by, and he got the usual hoorahs from the welcoming committee. After he left Mac was just heartbroken. He whimpered and moaned for 20 minutes, staring at the door and mourning. The cats looked hangdog (hangcat?). Finally Mac went to the door and sniffed around. Joy! He found one of John's footprints. Immediately he hiked his leg and watered it down thoroughly. The cats followed suit, and now I have a puddle to mop up.

I think next time John comes by I'm going to drag some chairs out in the yard and visit out there. The critters can then water John's shoes and the grass at the same time.
