Do your kitties have different preferences for affection? My Otis, with his thin silky fur, likes a soft stroke from head to the tip of his tail, along with a firm scratch on his chin. He leans into my hand and seems to just love it. I just drink in the silky feel of his fur and his purring and happiness.... and, lately, his drooling. He climbs up to get love at every opportunity.
Chester, with his thick fur, likes a rough hard scratch, even against the grain, and lots of rough housing. His favourite thing is the most touching - he love to exchange head rubs. I just love that - nose to nose contact with our little buddy. He has to worry about Otis getting jealous so doesn't demand affection too much - but when he does, look out. He purrs so loudly we think he's going to explode!
My boys...
