I have discovered several things tonight:
Tonight we had the perfect opportunity to go cruisin', just us three guys. Senyah was out for the evening, and I had been promising to set off some bug foggers.
- Buster likes potato chips and American cheese.
- Little Feet does *not* like riding in the car.
- Presto gets irritated with Little Feet's fear.
So I grabbed the boys and put both of them in the car. Little Feet immediately started crying. Presto immediately took over the front passenger seat, and settled in.
I drove off to the Post Office, with Little Feet crying the entire way. He sat on the ledge in the back window most of the way, with some time spent lounging in the back seat, and a little bit in the floor. At no point did he stop crying. Makes me wonder if he was afraid of being dropped off, or if this was just way too far outside his field of experience for his comfort...
After a while, Presto would growl and snarl every time he looked at Little Feet. Sort of a "Shut up! Wimp! Jump out the window or something!"
I made several stop and parks, so that I could cuddle the cats (especially poor Little Feet), and try to keep them calm.
Finally, we made it back to the apartment, where I parked another 15 minutes, just to be sure the pesticides had dissipated. I opened up windows, set fans running, and brought the cats in.
My upstairs neighbors were in the parking spot next to me, and were oohing and awwing the two boys. Especially when they saw how big Presto is; "Oh, how big! How beautiful!"
Buster was outside the front window, atop the air conditioner, waiting to be let in. So I made my dinner (PB&J and potato chips), got him some food, and let him in.
Buster ignored his food, and climbed into my lap (what a sweet kitty!), so I offered him a small chip. He nibbled on it for awhile until it was little bitty crumbs. I also had a slice of American cheese, so I offered him a nibble. He really enjoyed that! Presto and Little Feet are jaded, and just ignore cheese...
Anyway, such was my evening. I hope you all enjoyed yours.
