I went to bed on Friday night... okay that's not so unusual... I go to bed most nights (unless I fall asleep in the chair because a cat's chosen to sleep on me - you don't think I DARE move and wake them up do you?) and dozed off...And then I was sitting on the edge of the bed and holding Isis and she was stiff and cold. I was stroking her and crying. Until I heard it - the 20 foot purr (so called because it was heard at 20 feet through a closed door), and those gold green eyes opened and we rubbed heads. Then she wanted her tummy tickled and I obeyed. At some point I realised I was dreaming but it seemed so REAL. Then I felt the little tap on my leg that means Dunzi wants attention, and I looked down and there were the pair of them looking up as if they wanted to say "Hello" to Isis. So I put Isis down and the three of them did the compulsory sniffing of butts etc, then went off to play. I watched them for ages until I was tired so I settled down. At once, Isis jumped on me as did Sarsi and I seemed to drift back to sleep.
Just as I got to the bit where I was starting to wake up for real I felt Isis jump off me and through half open eyes I saw her heading for the kitchen and thought "Greedy guts".
Then I woke up and of course, Isis wasn't there. But if you asked me how many cats I lived with for about a minute I would have said "three!".
The weird thing was that Sarsi was lying on top of me and staring intently at the bedroom door as if she'd seen something as well...
Ah well ... it was just a dream. It was very odd that it felt so real but it was Saturday morning, time to get up (okay, not quite), and that was the most vivid dream I'd ever had of Isis.
And then I realised what the date was...
