CAT PHILES

Kiddy's Tales

Dynamics of Multiple Cats

As most of you know, we've only had single cats... then we got Tabby and Reina. I must admit I wish we'd got Kiddy and one of his siblings because I always felt Kiddy was missing something not having a fellow traveler around.

Anyway, I do get a kick out of watching Tabby and Reina interact with each other as they grow older. They're seldom far from each other and when one is involved in deviltry, the other is usually close at hand and, even more often, taking part.

I do have to laugh at Tabby though, because sometimes he'll perch on the back of the couch, a very good spot to observe all the activity. He won't make a sound or move. After a little while, Reina will miss Tabby and she'll wander throughout the house, meowing in that cute little high pitched squeak of hers. (Of course, Tabby then plays the Sphinx Cat, watching but not answering.) At first we thought she was hungry so we carried her to the food bowl but she ignored it and continued meowing. Then we figure she's looking for Tabby so we lift her up and place her next to him. She smells him to verify his identity then jumps off the couch and goes about her business.

And need I say anything about the 'lines' at the litter box?
