When Nancy and I moved into our current place, Cleo welcomed us with a nasty trick. After we had all the furniture moved in to the house, Cleo was nowhere to be found. We searched every corner and closet and box, but no sign of Cleo. We went outside to see if she had escaped, but still no sign. When we went back into the house we were greeted by Cleo wandering down the hallway from the bedroom. This morning Her Royal Highness Cleopatra Silvercat decided it was time to play that game again. Nancy got up a little before me to attend an early Rotary Club meeting, so we were both getting ready to leave the house at about the same time. When we did a kitty count we only counted 5 - no Cleo. Nancy checked under the bed with a flashlight, then looked in her closet. We both checked the back yard again, then I looked in Nancy's closet and checked under the bed with a flashlight. I had urgent issues to deal with at work (a dead mail server), so I left for the office, figuring Cleo would probably be sleeping on the bed when I got home tonight.
Nancy called about 20 minutes later. She stayed at home later than she had planned, checking in closets and cupboards. After she had decided she had looked everywhere a cat could hide, she went back to the bedroom to get her stuff together to leave. As she entered the bedroom she saw Cleo crawling out from under the bed. The where Nancy and I both looked carefully.
I don't know where she has found to hide, but it's a very effective hiding place! Maybe that where she keeps the teleporter...
