CAT PHILES

A Taste of Vino

The Evil Curtain

The new catpost is finally finished and installed in it's proper place. (Where the old one used to be). So we moved the old one to the landing on the stairs where we figure Vino will get a good view of the stairs and hallways.

So last night as I was going upstairs to bed, Vino raced up after me. When he got to his old cat condo, he had to stop for a good plucking of the scratching post. Then he jumped up on top of the platform. From there he discovered that he could get onto a narrow ledge below the window. So he walked to the end of the ledge and then....ran out of room. He couldn't go any further, but he couldn't turn around either! Oh no! What to do?!? Ah yes, lick the paw. That's better. But still, what to do about getting off the ledge? The ground is 4 feet away and it would look like defeat if he just jumped to the floor. Lick the paw some more. Meanwhile, I was watching with great amusement.

Finally, I decided to help the little bugger out. In order to preserve his catly dignity, I just went up and turned him around to face the other way. Of course, he didn't acknowledge my helpfulness, but then I didn't expect him to. He walked back to the other side of the ledge, where his cat condo was. Nonchalantly, he jumped off the ledge and onto the platform. But during the jump, his delicate rear end accidentally touched the curtain of the window behind him! Oh, you should have seen the evil glare that curtain received for it's impertinence!
