CAT TAILS

Aha! An explanation!

One of my cats, f'rocious little Bandit, is in the habit of sitting on a ledge in the upstairs hall, staring up at the opaque skylight. He only does this at night, and only occasionally, but he cranes his neck, staring, unblinking, sometimes for hours. A kindly contributor to this newsgroup once suggested that this was when the mother ship passed overhead, which made some sense, but didn't explain everything.

However, modern technology has provided a completely logical explanation. My son got a fancy-schmancy watch the other day. A computer program came with it; you load the program, make changes to day/date, alarms, phone numbers (I said it was f/s) etc., then hold the watch up to the screen. A series of lines like bar codes appears; the watch's intrared sensor reads them and uploads the information.

So THAT's what Bandit is doing! He's uploading his observations about human behavior to the mother ship, and downloading further instructions!

Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
