Tonight, Felix and Thalia met for the first time. He caught sight of her when she entered the living room while he was sitting quietly at the far end with his mother. When he saw her his eyes widened in amazement, his ears shot forward until the points were almost touching and he craned his neck forward to get a better look. Never before had he seen such a cat. She was a delicate creature with a slim white body, neat brown ears, well-defined, brown tabby stripes on her temples, legs and tail, and china blue eyes the likes of which he had never before seen. She was elegant and had a regal bearing and Felix knew he just had to meet her. When Thalia called for attention in her majestic Siamese voice, Felix immediately responded. He leapt from his scratching post and hurried towards her, keeping low to the ground. At a respectful distance from her, he stopped and prostrated himself. While awaiting her next utterance, his soft, gentle, dark eyes scanned her face. What sign would she give him that his presence was welcome?
Thalia stared at the gangly creature before her with its common black and white coat, clipped ear and slightly runny left eye - and sneered. Felix, taken aback, sat up, stiffened slightly, blinked his eyes and flicked his ears. In response, Thalia extended her neck towards him, opened her mouth and emitted a long, angry hiss.
Felix got the message and fled.
