My kitties have dry food out all the time and I refill the bowl when it gets low. However, last week Smudge and Biscuit Boy had to go see the vet to be neutered. The vet said no food or water after midnight the night before. So I gave all three of them (Kylie, Smudge, and Biscuit Boy) their before bed treat, made sure they all got a drink and picked up the food bowl and water bowls.

Well they decided that I'd experienced some serious memory lapse and had forgotten to feed them. So about 3:00AM they all start working on waking me up. Kylie walks up the head of the bed, leans out into my nightstand shelves and begins batting things out of them on the floor. I half wake up, pet her for a minute to get her to quit and go back to sleep. Kylie tries again by sitting on my pillow, extending her claws and raking them through my hair like a comb. I kinda wake up again, pet her, etc. Then Smudge and Biscuit Boy decide to start a rousing game of attack-your-brother on top of me. I half wake up again, etc. Smudge then gets up next to my head and begins licking my lips. I'm awake again, etc. Then Baker gets right up next to my ear and begin to purr as loud as he can......and on and on the went.

Needless to say none of us got much sleep that night and hopefully we won't have to go through that process again.
