CAT PHILES

Andrea's Anecdotes

Flo: That blasted cat, part 2

Flo spends most of her time in the office (notional third bedroom) sleeping or watching the world go by out the window. When I wake up in the morning I open the office door and it stays that way until I put her to bed in the evening. So yesterday morning, Flo could wander around. She came in for her morning fuss and was generally being a nuisance, something she excels at. I suggested politely that she goes back to bed and she wanders back into the office. When she is bored, she scratches on the office door, the cupboard door or the desk, all of which are wood. She has a scratching post, crinkle bag and loads of toys, so I have no idea why she gets bored, but the does.

So I am lounging about reading in bed and she starts scratching. Usually yelling at her makes her stop immediately, but not this time. So, with a sigh, I get Grace off the bed, get up and hobble into the hall only to see Flo disappearing onto the windows sill behind the curtains. She happily sits down and her tail, which sticks out from under the curtain, twitches to and fro with amusement. Stupid cat!
