Little Feet has been with us almost two years now, and is finally growing a little, although he's still a small cat (about three years old, by the way). He's just discovering a few 'growing problems'.Of course, cats always come into the bathroom for attention whenever anyone has to use the bathroom, and Little Feet does that too. When he is finished being admired, he likes to sit on the corner edge, in the back of the tub.
While he used to fit up there quite nicely, now he has to constantly adjust one of his paws so that he doesn't slide off. There just doesn't seem to be quite enough room for the whole cat any longer. Sometimes I get the "fix it, it used to be bigger!" look.
In the living room, we have a four-compartment scratching post/tower, with a corner cut out in the back of each compartment. Little Feet is not only bigger, but he is longer as well, and passes between chambers a lot more slowly than he used to.
He has two problems here. One, he has to arrange the extra length before he can bring the bottom half of his body into the chamber (with dignity and all - grin), and his tummy is a bit bigger than it used to be, so he has to suck it in a little. Now, he isn't fat by any stretch, but it is hilarious to watch.
I'm just waiting for the day that he gets stuck, and I have to rescue him without injuring either his dignity or my hands (grin).
There are times when, instead of going between two adjacent chambers, he just bites the bullet and goes between three chambers. Looks like one of those 'saw the lady in half' magic tricks. I obviously need to get a picture of this sometime (if I can catch him at it).
Poor baby, he's growing up.
