An interesting bit I thought I'd share...I learned from a friend/neighbor a few years ago that when a cat has proudly come to you with a (still living/dying) mouse and brings it in to you, that he is not in the implied sense bringing you a "gift" or trying to show off his catch. Instead...
When a cat does this, it is because the cat has noticed that you haven't demonstrated any skills in the area of hunting for food. And in ("an arrogant") attempt to teach its owner, the cat brings in a half-living specimen to let you attempt to kill it yourself, and is actually trying to teach you how to fend for yourself much the same way it would for its own siblings.
Interesting, huh?
