CAT PHILES

Tales From The Litterbox

Helpful Kitties

Having a rare day off in the middle of the week, I decided today to take care of a project I've been putting off for some time. I have (or had) a large shelf that I wanted to convert into two smaller shelves. Felix and Sabrina were very interested in all the strange tools and things scattered about. Sabrina was even more excited, because she's not allowed on the shelf in question, and here I was emptying all that annoying clutter off of it, making it easier for her to explore. Not to be, though. As soon as it was empty, the shelf itself got dragged into the middle of the room for me to work on. Or try to work on. Felix was VERY helpful, investigating every piece, and playing with all the rearranged items. He tried to run off with some metal brackets. Sabrina was more content to supervise from atop the television, until I was done. Then both cats decided to inspect the work. Felix curled under one of the shelves, and Sabrina lounged right in the middle unit of what was to be my new printer stand. It took lifting and moving it to displace the Queen from her new throne.

Then, after installing a new printer, scanner, and speakers, I spent another hour or so cleaning the mess and replacing all the rearranged furniture. Now I'm relaxed, sitting back with a beer, emailing friends about getting together tonight, and what do I find? Two passed out kitties, obviously overworked from all their home improvement help. I'm so glad THEY put in a full day. smiley.gif
