My pooch, Sadie, has been named Honorary Cat around here. Some of her cat-like tendencies are:
- She lounges on the back of the couch, stretched out to soak in as much sun as possible. (Keep in mind she is a 65-pound Greyhound)
- She sleeps approximately 18 hours a day, and the other 6 hours are spent racing around like a maniac for no apparent reason, usually at about midnight.
- She ignores the food in her dish, then looks at me with this pathetic "I'm starving" face until I share my food with her.
- She hogs the entire bed. (Try sleeping with 1 large dog and 3 various sized cats. I usually feel like I slept tied up like a pretzel)
- She gets me up at 6:00 *every* day so I can put food in her bowl....so she can ignore the food and go steal my side of the bed.
- She scratches at the door, insisting that she has to go out *now* then, as soon as the door closes behind her, she scratches to be let back in.
- She hates to ride in the car! (now if that isn't an "un-dog" tendency then what is?!?")
She can't purr, but she does do what we call the Moany-Groanies.....it's like a really quiet howl. We do this every Saturday morning when Rob wants to sleep in and we want him to get up so that we can take his side of the bed!
