How do they do it? Cherokee used the litter pan, walked down the hall and up the stairs, then left a small pile of litter and pieces of fecal matter at the landing. There wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere between the pan and the top of the stairs. It's as if he stopped and brushed off his paws after he got there, but if it had been on his paws, he would have left a trail. Maybe he carried it in a little backpack or something? But I think I would have noticed a backpack.Maybe he put it in his pockets, like Bugs Bunny. But, why? Is he the only cat who does this? And how did cat fur get on my hairbrush? It's closed up in a drawer in the bathroom. He wouldn't be grooming himself for the ladies, because he's been fixed. Or has he? Who's been wearing my socks and getting skid marks in my drawers and soup stains on my ties? I swear these little hairy varmint critters are trying to... yes, you are, and don't... quit hiding in the fireplace. Come out and take your licking like a... uh... oh, here comes the nurse with her nice pills. Why is she wearing a bedpan... oh, never mind. I can see this is going to be one of those... nice doggie.
