CAT POET'S CORNER

Identical Poses

As the midday sun streams through the window
My two feline girls enjoy the fresh air
Communing with each other
Grey and tawny brown tiger-striped tabby, Tortoiseshell of black and cream patches and apricot stripes
Kajagoogoo and Daphne
In identical poses
Two bodies, eight paws and two tails relaxing in the summer sunshine
I laughingly tell them they are in identical poses and ask if they are communing with each other
They look at me silently with green eyes
Kajagoogoo's summer day green and Daphne's autumnal olive green
Stretched out in their identical poses
