As I have mentioned before, Dorrie and Shinobu hate each other. It's an old family quarrel that they just will not end.Even though they hate each other they have to sleep within inches of the other one. Usually with their backs to each other.
This morning I was determined that I was going to change the sheets on the bed. I had put it off several times because of sleeping kitties, but today I refused to be denied.
I kicked them both off. Well, I shoo'd Shinobu off and picked Dorrie up and put her on the floor. Shinobu stuck her nose in the air and strutted out of the bedroom. Dorrie called me all kinds of names and grumbled and complained that I was the worst mommy in the world and she couldn't believe that I would disrupt her morning nap that way.
I had the bed changed in ONLY a few minutes. It's not like it took the whole morning fer heaven's sake. Dorrie was immediately up on the bed and challenged each and all to just try to get up there with her. Of course Shinobu couldn't resist and she just knew I must have an article of clothing on there for her to lay on so up she went.
There was great caterwauling and the air was full of hissing. In seconds both cats were on the floor all poofed out and giving me evil looks that could turn an average cat slave to stone. I am made of sterner stuff.
I told them to stop being so silly and put some extra wet food in their dishes to get them to calm down. They accepted the bribe and eventually went back to the bed and fell to great snoozing.
My problem is how I'm going to break it to them that the carpet cleaners will be here on Wednesday.
