If your house is anything like mine, your cats have picked up a number of random nicknames throughout their lives. In our case it's come to the point where they rarely ever get called their original names, except when taken to the vet, being formerly introduced to new guests, or getting in trouble. I'm interested to hear some of the names you've come up with for your feline friends. Here is very condensed list of the names our two boys have acquired.

Enzo is the original name of one of our cats. He has been called:

1. "The Amazing Enzo: Acrobat to the Stars" -- he got this name because he is the only cat I know who actually enjoys being flipped around, jostled, and rolled about in cardboard tubes.
2. "Winky" -- he had a leaky eye once during a respiratory infection and walked around with his left eye constantly winking for days. He looked like he was getting fresh with everyone.
3. "Pooker"
4. "Hurly" -- his amazing ability to eat at top speed and then projectile vomit unchewed food earned him this name.
5. "Fox Mulder" -- Enzo is suspicious of everything and everyone. He constantly thinks we are trying to give him pills, clean his paws, or whatever goes through his little mind. He also sniffs and inspects everything again and again.
6. "Babby" -- my young nephew's word for baby.

Chewbacca is our other cat's original name. His nicknames include:

1. "Chewie"
2. "Bratwurst" -- his long and meaty body makes him look suspiciously like a sausage when stretched out on the couch.
3. "RugSlug" -- you know when cats slink along the ground to sneak up on pray? Chewie is slightly over weight so his belly drags a bit when in the slouched position. If his belly were moist he would definitely leave a trail behind him.
4. "Carpet Seal" -- ever see those documentaries about mating seals when they lay about on the beach with their bellies exposed?
5. "Cuddle Slut" -- Chewie will accept a lap from anyone, provided you don't divert your attentions from him. This could cause serious damage to your eardrums as he howls in protest.
6. "Babby" -- Hey, they're both my babies.
