CAT PHILES

The Cat Ascendant

In the Night
(The Cat's Halloween)

On quiet cat feet upon our way we tread,
Lurking in the shrubbery instead of found abed,
The delights of cool dark nights cannot be over praised,
Cavorting with or perhaps a tiff with several evil strays.

On quiet cat feet and camouflage complete,
Sliding through the shadows those other cats we'll seek.
Here and there, a yellow glare will flame,
And with the dawn returns the calm; our familiar we reclaim.
