Jay-Jay and the deer

Here is Jay-Jay in what would be an indecent pose
if he weren't a cat, but since he is it's just cute.

Two of our close relatives live in Ontario's "cottage country" on a lovely four acre wooded hill. It connects to open land, and recently when we visited I looked out the window and saw something a city type doesn't expect -- two beautiful white-tailed deer strolling by.

An email arrived today saying that "the deer and Jay have a special bond now, and he goes out to visit them when they come to lick the salt lick we put out."

Usually Jay-Jay considers any four-legged intruder on his property to be his enemy, to be avoided (if a dog), or caught and eaten (if small). But he's not stupid. He figures anything as enormous as those deer, especially with those sharp dangerous hooves, are his friends.
