CAT PHILES

Dave's View

Le chat cocquette

These little hairy varmint critters are so human it's scary. Just now I was sitting on the couch watching TV with the War Departm. . .I mean, of course, my darling wife, with Mac snoozing beside me with his snoot on my lap. Sasha came running by and jumped and swatted Mac as she passed. Over and over again she tried to get him to get up and play with her. Finally, with a sigh of resignation, Mac stumbled into unwilling action and halfheartedly tried to chase her. Almost immediately he caught her, whereupon with a cry of rage she swatted him hard across the nose and hisspit at him.

Mac stared at her unbelievingly. She laid her ears back and hisspit again. The poor pooch climbed back in my lap and lay back down; but he kept a close eye on her just the same.

He looked up at me as if to say, "Women! I'm glad I've been fixed. Glad, you hear?"
