The Lump

Mithu

I was making the bed the other morning, and Pippin jumped up to lie down between the top sheet and the blanket, forming a nice pink lump. Mithu strolled in for his morning petting and decided that he'd get better results if he hopped up higher, onto the bed. I skritched his cheeks for a moment, then walked over to the other side of the bed (the Pippin side) to get dressed. Mithu turned to follow and saw the Lump. His eyes got very big, then POUNCE, right on top of the Lump. The Lump started swearing quietly and tried to wander away. Mithu pounced again, grabbing the blanket in his teeth and pulling like a dog playing tug of war. More swearing, louder this time. The Lump progressed closer to the other side of the bed. Mithu followed. Pounce. Swear. Back off. Move. Pounce. Until the Lump could finally get off the bed. I bet Pippin's potty mouth would give Patty's a run for her money...

Mithu came back in the bedroom a few minutes later and mirrped expectantly at the bed. He wanted to play again, but the Lump was nowhere to be found.
