CAT PHILES

The Escapades of Otis & Chester

The Magic Papasan Chair

I got the cheque for my last gig in the mail at the same time the advert for a sale on papasan chairs arrived in the mailbox. Those are the chairs that are the shape of a satellite dish, rotate around in a little base and have a huge comfy cushion on them. I associate those with being a kid whiling the days away reading on a rainy weekend, drinking hot tea, and generally being at one with the world. I decided right then and there to pop out and grab one as a comfort technique during these hectic days with little children.

I got it home, wrapped myself up in a lovely fleece blanket and sank into the chair. Wonderful peace settled over as I napped while the kids napped (miracle in itself). Chester must have picked up on the happiness vibrations because he jumped up and settled into my lap for a quick wash and a snooze. He's been with us for five years and has only ever just leaned on part of me. He has *never* sat on either Fred or me before. I was in total heaven as he purred away in the Magic Papasan Chair.
