Yesterday evening I was putting the finishing touches to my conference presentation. Lastly, I read it out loud to see how long it takes to read. My time slot is limited to 20 minutes, so I had to clock it carefully.

When I started reading, Nikki started answering back! She looked very worried, and each time I was able to continue reading for laughing, she started yowling in response. Poor baby, she seemed to think mama was in terrible distress. When I would not stop making those funny noises, she jumped up on the desk beside me, moved cautiously towards me, and carefully sniffed my mouth to see, why that terrible noise came out of it.

Needless to say, my presentation took much longer than 20 minutes. I just hope I can resist thinking of Nikki's reaction when I'm up there, giving the presentation to a bunch of strangers.
