Maya's latest is to hunt all sorts of insects and bugs, make a funny "purrmiaaau" noise with them still in her mouth when she sees me, and drops it at my feet. The most common is Cicada's. Have you ever heard the noise a cicada can make when it is caught between feline fangs? Maybe she thinks my diet needs some more fibre, I don't know. The other night she came into our bedroom with the same "purrmiaaau", and the next moment we heard bones crack. Now I pictured in my mind's eye how she chews that mousie like a croco-cat. I made hubby look, did not have the stomach for such things under the best of circumstances, let alone in the middle of the night.. only to have him burst out laughing.
She stole a chicken bone out of the kitchen bin somehow, and decided to eat her "prey" only after she showed us how clever she was.
The other evening she came in from outside (we have a converted kitty - now she loves the out-doors) with a french fry in her mouth, that she scored who knows where. Did you know that Siamese cats eat potatoes in the form of fries? Or is it only when they think it is prey? Maybe it is just Maya trying everything and retaining the good. O well, Iolaus ate anything, and he LOVED chocolates.
