CAT PHILES

Merlin Wet The Bed

I came home from work the other day to find that my bed was soaked and a plastic water glass was laying in the middle. The straw that had been in it was bent, full of holes, and laying on the floor beside the bed. It had been a while since the glass had been dumped as I discovered it by sitting in the middle of the puddle. I knew a cat had done the deed, as there are no d*gs in the house and the kids weren't home. I just didn't know which cat.

I mopped up the bed and changed the bedding, and was telling Rob about it when the mystery was solved. Merlin jumped up beside me on my side of the bed and started patting the straw that was in my new water glass. This one was the type I normally use, heavy glass, instead of plastic. He was very cautious about catching the straw, more so than usually. Finally, he figured out that the glass wasn't going to get him and jerked the straw out of the glass and killed it.

Poor kid, there he'd been having a nice little spot of straw hunting, when that nasty plastic water glass attacked him and wet down his feet. I'd wondered why he was hiding under the bed when I got home. Anyway, I now use only the heavy glasses, instead of the plastic, or thin glass drinking equipment.
