FLIPPY & MIA'S STORIES

Mistaken Identity

Last night my neighbor, Sharon, called me and asked if I could do her a favour. She said that her mommy puss (who has two little kittens) got out and hadn't shown up for several hours. Since Sharon wasn't going to be home until this morning, she asked that if I saw a black cat, to catch her and keep her at my place.

Later on in the evening, a friend was playing with a black cat in my front yard, so I told him to catch the kitty and put it in the chicken-enclosure (no chickens in it of course!) until this morning. Poor kitty was meowing really loud and trying to get out, but since I promised Sharon, I couldn't release the kitty. We put a box lined with a woolly jumper into the enclosure for kitty to sleep in, and also a bowl of dry food and some water. Kitty was okay overnight, though it did wake me several times during the night by trying the climb the wire.

This morning I called Sharon and told her that I had captured her kitty, and that she could come to my place and pick it up ASAP. Sharon didn't know what I was talking about. Apparently, HER cat came home about half an hour after she called me!

Obviously, I had the wrong cat! So I went outside and immediately and released the poor wrongly imprisoned kitty and it ran away over the fence. Hopefully the kitty won't be too traumatized for having spent one night in the chicken-enclosure of a stranger's house. And the poor kitty probably won't come into my yard again for fear of getting caught!

Oh well, my intentions were good.
