We are back in Ripon, CA where had an excellent dark walk a couple of weeks ago through an adjacent almond orchard. Today I parked in a totally different part of the truck stop where the orchard wasn't even visible. When we left for our walk Harri headed straight for the truck repair shop parking lot, made a loop around the parked trucks, and headed straight for that almond orchard.
Unfortunately when we got there I could smell that it had recently been sprayed, so we had to content ourselves with walking through an empty field next door. But it was still interesting enough for over an hour's walk.
For the last couple of month's Harri hasn't wanted to do daytime walks, except at a couple of extra-special locations. The company yards in Colton and Sacramento are the only places she still does day walks.
In the past she has protested horribly any time I tried to carry her when we were on our walks. Now, though, she rides comfortably in my arms while we walk across busy driveways and past noisy idling trucks. But as soon as we're clear of the danger areas, she wants to be put down RIGHT NOW!
