FLIPPY & MIA'S STORIES

Got a new kitty!!!!!!!!!

I am soooo excited!!! We've got a new baby kitty today! Well actually, it's not technically mine, it belongs to my girlfriend Mia who lives with me.

So how did she acquire this new kitty? Well, the day started off fine. Mia has been away for the past four days and was expected home at 4:00PM today. I had a 12:30PM appointment at the hairdresser, and on the way home several hours later I had to stop at a Vet to buy prescription food for my Romeo & Juliet (the are both prone to cystitis so they are on a special diet).

When I walked into the Vets I walked straight up to the shelves and picked up a large bag of cat food plus 5 cans. I took them to the counter to pay, when I saw the nurse behind the counter cuddling a tiny tabby kitten. The kitten was so sweet, about 5 weeks old (no flames please, I know she is too young to be away from her mother). I asked the nurse if I could cuddle the baby kitty and she handed her right to me. Well, the kitten just melted my heart and I while I was kissing her on the top of her tiny head, the nurse said that I could have the kitty if I want. I asked what the situation was, and was told that the mommy puss & 5 kittens were dumped at the vets overnight. The poor mommy puss is only 6 months old. (It makes me so angry that people are so stupid and ignorant that they wont get their pets desexed.) I was told that the mommy puss & kittens would have to go to the Cat Protection Society on Tuesday unless they could be adopted before then.

Anyway, I took the kitty outside to show my house-mate and asked if it would be alright if we brought her home. (well it's only fair since he does own the house and I already have two cats and one dog here!) He said yes!! and then he suggested that we give the kitty to my girlfriend Mia. The nurse at the vet was very happy that the baby is going to a good home (they already know me and my kitties well), and she gave me a huge bag of IAMS kitten food for free.

Mia has never had a kitten or cat before. In fact, before she met my cats one year ago, she never even knew what the purring meant. She didn't know how to hold them or play with them, and she actually thought that cats eat only fish and drink milk! I told her that she has been watching too many cartoons!! LOL!! Well, during the past year Mia has become increasingly confident with cats. She now adores them! She cuddles them, feeds them, grooms them, plays with them, kisses them, and has come to be a very well-trained cat-slave. Romeo and Juliet have come to love her too, and they are almost as close to her as they are to me.

Anyway, when Mia came home at 4:00PM this afternoon, I told her that we had a gift for her. We made her close her eyes and hold her hands out... then I put the kitty in her hands. She was so happy and could not believe that we would give her something so precious. She is truly delighted to have her own kitty!

Now for the details of the new kitten who Mia has now named "Chloe". Chloe is a DSH tabby with a pretty face, she looks quite a bit like an Egyptian Mau. The black spots on her body are very well-defined, and she has a sable background color.

We have already started taking photos of Chloe, and since Mia is a professional photographer, I expect that she will take lots and lots of photos of her in the weeks/months/years ahead.

As soon as I have some images available I will upload them to my website and let you know to go take a look at the new baby.

Well that's all for now... I just went to see how/where the kitten is. Mia is asleep on the bed with Chloe cuddled up next to her. It looks like a match made in heaven....
