I went to a yard sale last weekend and lo and behold! They had brand new, in the package kitty toys for 50¢ each. At the moment I have two adult females (PuffPuff and Doofy), one huge male feral (Sumo), and three adorable 9-week-old kittens (Molly, Purnelope and James). The kittens have made toys of everything in their reach. Shoe laces, paper bags, toilet-paper rolls, dead bugs etc. I brought them home the following, A mesh life size mouse with feather tail and bell, three day-glo mini mice, a wool rattley ball with feathers, and a rabbit fur hamster with googly eyes.
I unwrapped all this booty at once and dropped it on the floor. The kittens approached apprehensively. I decided to run to the store while they 'got acquainted' with their new toys.
When I returned, the two adult females were sleeping. One kitten had a mini mouse in the kitchen, and growled ferociously when I entered. Ah success! I could hear the other two racing around in the other room having a grand old time. I couldn't wait to see which toys THEY had selected as their very own.. I peeked around the corner, and there they were... chasing a turd around the cat box. Sigh. Stupid cats.
