Nikki: A Very Special Cat

Nikki is a Very Special Cat. As my sister says, "all cats are individuals, but Nikki is an individual among cats". I was raised by cats, so I feel that I usually understand them pretty well, but Nikki is a complete mystery to me. She often tries to tell me things that I simply cannot understand, though I usually get the message when a cat tries to tell me something.

Frank is Nikki's bestest buddy, but she cannot stand other cats. Sometimes she needs to be so close to Frank, she presses up against his side where he walks, and curves her tail around his back.

Nikki's back legs are too long for her body. When she walks, her butt sticks up. She often emphasizes this by holding her tail forwards, over her back. Sometimes, she fluffs up parts of her tail for no apparent reason. She fluffs up the tip or the base, or the middle. When Nikki lies curled up, her long legs stick out behind her back

Nikki hates d*gs. She once scratched a pit-bull terrier who got too close. The d*g had just won some award for being "the most beautiful dog" at a show. The dog's owner never spoke to me again.

Nikki is smart in her own, quirky way, and usually manages to get her own way. The huge innocent eyes may help, too. smiley.gif

For more proof of how smart she is, here is Nikki reading the newspaper!

This news just
bowls me over!

Nikki is an expert hunter. For descriptions of what she has brought home, please read my other stories here: Cat Attack.

Though she is 13 today, Nikki still looks like a kitten. She is about half the size of Frank, has a tiny triangular face and a tiny black nose, topped by huge eyes. She is one of those cats that you just have to look at and they start to purr. Her purr is very loud, and she always seems content. Unless a d*g or another cat comes near. Then she changes into a growling bundle of hisspit.

Nikki is no lapcat, but each morning, she wants a cuddle in my arms. Then she purrs her little head off and pushes different parts of her head against my hand to be scratched. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes. Then she has had her loving for the day and runs off happily.

I could go on and on about her, but I think you have all realized already that I love Nikki very much, though I seldom write about her. Birthday Girl gets some shrimp today.
