Persephone has various obsessions - killing bedmice (much to the annoyance of DH when she does it at 3AM!), food (people food, cat food, d*g food - it's all the same to her) and her leash. She loves chasing the end of the dog's leash and when she thinks she is bored, or when she thinks I need to be distracted, she'll go and fetch a leash from where-ever we have them stashed and bring it to me so that I can move it for her. Today I came home in a bit of a state, having lost my credit card (b*gger, damn, *&^*&%$$) and Persephone's response is to bring me the leash so that I can play with her. I'm guessing she picked up on my mood and figured that chasing the leash like a fooligan works for her, so it might work for me too. I haven't the heart to tell her that my worry-button is more difficult to deactivate than hers is. I certainly appreciate her thoughtfulness.
