CAT PHILES

Smudge and Peepers

Ok, Ok! I'll go to bed now.

Sunday night was a little odd. Smudge sort of made me feel like a teenager whose parent wants them to go to bed NOW!!

It was about 12:30AM, and I was watching TV - don't ask what I am not sure if I even knew while I was watching it. Peepers was laying in a chair nearby resting waiting for me to go to bed so that he could have his bed (my place on the loveseat). He had obviously decided that he was not going to sleep with me that night anyway.

Now Smudge comes walking into the room, walks over to me, and starts to act excited and that I should follow her to the bedroom (decidedly unusual as she usually waits until I get there and then decides if she is going to stay). Anyway at her persuasion I turn off the TV and lights and follow her into the bedroom. I change and get into bed, quickly again at her insistence. She does a march around the top of the bed (I am beginning to wonder what has gotten into her). She stops by my hands and grabs them lightly (usually a prelude to trying to awaken me to get an early breakfast). I respond by petting her and almost immediately she decides she's done her duty and jumps off the back of the bed (a move usually only done by Peepers) and leaves the room to go back into the living room to sleep.

I've just been put to bed like a kid, by my cat yet. Yeesh!!!

Later in the night I got up and peeked into the living room and there was Peepers curled up where I sit and Smudge had taken the chair nearby as she usually does when she sleeps in the living room.

Strange night, definitely strange.
