A few months ago I posted about the war between Ted (calico beauty) and Dave (her willing slave) over Dave's nice new pillow. It's been a while, but today Dave declared a winner in the war, and the winner isn't him! (I know, none of you are surprised - the cat *always* wins!).So, Ted owns the pillow and lets Dave borrow it occasionally. Dave has declared it's a good thing, now that the weather's getting colder (autumn/fall here in the southern hemisphere), as Ted likes to lend Dave some pillow and then wrap herself around his skull like purring earmuffs. Dave loves to drop of to sleep to the sound of Ted purring anyway, and Ted uses Dave like a hot-water bottle, so it's a good situation all-'round.
As for me, Ted has given me permission to be the midnight door-opener (for when the bathroom door has closed and denied her access to her food), pooper-scooper (she lets us know when she's made a deposit and wants it banked) and kitty-lollies refiller (kitty-lollies = dried food). Lucky me! On the other hand, Ted does favour me on the couch and preferentially cuddles up to me for an evening of cuddling and purring, while Dave grumbles about the cat playing us off against each other!!
I want to come back as a house cat!
